Stress, HRV
and your screens

read every morning from your wearable and your phone

Stress and attacks turn up together, and your body keeps a record of the days in between: the HRV that dipped, the resting heart rate that crept up, the recovery that never came, the evening that was all screen. AnxietyMe collects those numbers from a connected wearable, Apple Health or Health Connect, and the screen and noise numbers from the phone itself, and tests each one against your attacks.

why your body?

Across 36 studies, 2,086 people with an anxiety disorder had lower resting HRV than 2,294 controls, including the 447 with panic disorder.

What is collected

HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, recovery, strain, stress index, steps, time in high heart rate zones, SpO2, skin temperature, weight, body fat, blood pressure and blood glucose, whichever your source provides. Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect directly; Apple Watch, Fitbit, Samsung and most other devices come in through Apple Health or Health Connect.

Stress, two ways

If your source is Garmin or Oura, the stress number is the one your device worked out. Otherwise AnxietyMe computes a stress index each morning from your HRV and resting heart rate against your own two-week baseline, which needs both of them. There is no stress score to fill in; a stressful day, a worry spiral, an argument or a let-down after it is over can be added as a one-tap trigger instead.

Screens, doomscrolling and noise

Screen time and late-night screens are collected on Android with usage access. Doomscrolling is a one-tap trigger for the sessions that mattered. With the microphone allowed, the phone takes short readings of the noise level around you and marks the days that were clearly louder than your usual; no audio leaves the phone, and the microphone is optional.

Tested like everything else

Stress high and low, recovery high and low, steps high and low, high heart rate zones, screen time, late screens, noise high and low, blood pressure and blood glucose are collected and tested against your attacks with the same statistics as sleep or weather.

Where it lives in the app

Monitor and then Physical Health: today's numbers at the top, then recovery, HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, strain, SpO2, skin temperature, high heart rate zones and steps, with your attacks laid over the history. Mental under Monitor holds stress, screen time, unlocks, brightness, volume and noise.

What it needs from you

A connected source for the body numbers. Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect in Connections; Apple Watch and anything writing to Apple Health or Health Connect arrives that way. Usage access on Android for screen time; the microphone, optional, for noise levels. The stress index needs both HRV and resting heart rate.

Questions

Which wearables work?

Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect directly in Connections. Apple Watch and anything else that writes to Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android, comes in from there.

Is HRV measured by the app itself?

No. HRV, resting heart rate and respiratory rate come from your connected source. The app reads them, it does not measure them.

Does the app record sound?

No. When noise sampling is on, the phone measures a loudness level and only that level is kept. No audio is uploaded and nobody listens to anything. The microphone is optional, and Noise Sampling has its own switch in Data.
